Powerful SeNsitivity

Cultivating Connection to Self for Sustainable Transformation

I created Powerful Sensitivity because I believe personal and collective transformation are connected.

I know the personal change you desire to see:
It looks like:

  • Feeling like what you do matters and that you are having a positive impact

  • Being clear about your purpose and how you can most effectively create change

  • Having the energy and time to both care for yourself and build thriving relationships

The collective change you want to see looks like:

  • All people have what they need to thrive

  • Shifting our culture toward one that uplifts well-being over productivity

  • Equitable sharing of power and resources across race, gender, ability level, and sexual orientation

And I’m going to share how to make this possible.

The truth is, the more tools for self-awareness and emotional regulation you have, the more effectively you will work to ensure that others are cared for in an unjust world.

The care and work you put into the world is so important and I believe it is just as important that you care for yourself.

When you can embody your values of dignity and care by including yourself, we are much more likely to expand those values to the larger world.

If you are looking for ways to sustainably continue your work to make a positive difference in the world with integrity,  join Powerful Sensitivity: Cultivating Connection to Self to Sustainably Create Change.

A 6-WEEK GROUP INTENSIVE COURSE

Starting October 28th

  • This 6-week virtual course shows you how to create small shifts in your life so you can sustainably do the work of healing and social change with integrity.

You may be hesitant because it is hard to see the value of investing in yourself when you see so much suffering in the world. You may even think, “Other people have it worse than me,” or “I need to be strong for everyone else.”

Your experience is just as important as everyone else's, and I understand it can be hard to prioritize yourself when you see how social injustice profoundly impacts people’s individual lives.

If you don’t prioritize yourself, it is like trying to save someone who is drowning without any life-saving device– you get pulled under with them.

Powerful Sensitivity will help you create personal and collective transformation by:

  • Building awareness of your somatic experiences to know what you need to find balance and ease.

  • Learning tools to regulate your energy and emotional state to build a greater sense of vitality and balance so that you can enjoy your life outside of your responsibilities.

  • Learning how to implement somatic practices to your maximum benefit for nervous system balance.

  • Understanding the deeper roots of disconnection from self in cultural and traumatic experiences so you can extract oppressive narratives and release shame.

  • Learning how to set embodied boundaries and manage the discomfort of other’s reactions to your boundaries, so that you can be more intentional with how you use your time and energy.

  • Practicing asking for and receiving care from others to expand your web of support.

This Course is for You If:

  • You give your time and energy to caring for others and often forget to leave any time for yourself.

  • You are a social worker, healer, teacher, caregiver, activist, highly sensitive person, trauma survivor, or changemaker.

  • You intellectually understand that self-care is essential, but you barely have the energy to complete your responsibilities.

  • You continue to go eating, drinking, smoking, having sex, scrolling, and staying busy to cope with the realities of the world.

  • You want to find simple ways to find more balance and ease in your life.

This Course is NOT for You If:

  • You don’t want to put time and energy into implementing new routines and practices into your daily life

  • You are not willing to take responsibility for your emotional experience

  • You are not interested in bringing a collective framework to your personal transformation work

  • You aren’t willing to challenge yourself to try new things

Your Facilitator:

Hi, I'm Rachel (she/her). I help self-reliant idealists tired of making everyone else happy rediscover their inner voice and reclaim their sovereignty so that they can have more ease and fulfillment in their lives, work, and relationships. I believe that systems change people, and people change systems. I work with people to resource themselves and honor their authenticity so they can buffer against the impacts of an unjust world while freeing up energy to create a culture of connection and care.

I am professionally trained as a clinical social worker and yoga therapist. After many years working in community mental health, I was burnt to a crisp and legit left the country to teach yoga on a beach. Two important lessons I learned were that I am too type A for that lifestyle and that I couldn't escape the realities of our world. After returning to the country and my work, I have focused on balancing self and collective care. I focus on bridging the gap between individual and collective healing to create a culture that germinates sustainable personal and collective change.
